The March 20th show featured live performances by Sarah Lentz, Phoebe Lyng, Dusty Brown, and Melanie Penn. Be sure to tune in to WCWP this weekend for a sampling of The Stoop and Flat World Recordings.

It was a jam-packed evening of indie soul, folk, and pop presented in a round-table format. The concert was divided into two acts with emcee, Chris “Grandfather Rock” MacIntosh moderating a Q&A segment at the close of each set.

The two-hour, 18 multi-track recording was mixed and mastered within a few weeks and is now set to air on WCWP this Sunday. The broadcast will begin at 4:30 PM on the “Rock and Soul Gospel” show hosted by Grandfather Rock. Click on the link below at the time of broadcast to hear the full show on CW Post - Long Island University’s WCWP radio station.

TUNE IN SUNDAY, APRIL 18TH AT 4:30 PM!!!!!

So it’s official...Flat World Recordings is now the sound/tech sponsor of The Stoop Concert Series. J Scott provided his services for the first season of the series and helped the team build up their sound system to be a fully-function front-of-house mixing and recording powerhouse. With a successful first season in the bag, Flat World Recordings was asked to become an official sponsor...a position we were totally happy to accept.

Many of the recordings you hear on Flat World’s site are from the series...and an updated feed of samples can be heard on the home page of The Stoop.

If you have interest in seeing bands play at the venue, our upcoming concert will include headlining act Sarah and the Stanleys featuring Dusty Brown and Cassidy on November 21 at 8PM. Details can be found HERE. Hope to see you there!!!!

In a coming live show, Flat World Recordings will have the honor of working with rising local talent Electric Black. For a special night at the Chelsea Art Museum...hosted by Roof Top Films, the band recruited the services of Flat World to help create a high-quality live recording of the performance.

Quoted as “the most punk rock country-blues chamber orchestra on earth,” Electric Black has been quickly catching the eyes and ears of the local club scene in NYC. Check out an interview from WOAWA TV for an idea of what this eclectic band is all about.

Stay tuned for more happenings over the summer with Flat World Recordings including more live shows with the The Stoop concert series, where we serve as the official sound/recording service provider. Also note we are still offering promotions for discounted (and potentially FREE) recordings under our portfolio project as we are building up the client list and sample collection for mobile and mixing/editing services. First come, first serve!!!!
